Use Windows but like Linux? No problem
I am a Linux fanboy through and through. I am also a realist and I know that at the moment over ninety percent of desktop computers use Windows. If you work with computers then there comes a time where you have no other choice but to use Windows. There is a way you can use Windows the same way you use Linux.
If you are any sort of power Linux user then you will certainly have a collection of scripts and favourite programs that you just can't live without. Being forced to work on a Windows system without those tools can create symptoms similar to a junkie without needles. Fortunately the open source crowd have ported our favourite tools and shells to the windows platform.
The most comprehensive solution is Cygwin. The homepage for Cygwin is here. Cygwin is pretty much a complete Linux operating system running in parallel with windows. There is a much more lightweight solution. These are the "GNU utilities for Win32."
