Myah OS 3 Tech Demo 2 Available
Myah OS 3 Tech Demo 2 is now available. This is the second release on the road to 3.0 Stable. This is still a development release but it should be fairly stable and have a well rounded selection of applications.
There are still 3 objectives that need to be met before 3.0 stable.
Firstly, would be to get the system well tested to weed out any bugs or setting changes. Secondly, to work on Myah's Package Management System. Finally, there is still no actual installer. There needs to be at least a live installer before 3.0 can be complete. Both the Package Management and installer will be text based to start with. Both the binary packages and source packages will be made available and since the bulk of the system has been completed development should come much faster from now on.
This Development has 2 major bugs at the time of release that could not be fixed. Beryl running under ATI will Hardlock the system when turned off. Firefox will crash from mplayerplug-in when playing media through it. Since this is a development release and there was no available fixes for these I didn't wish to hold up the release.
Though there is no actual installer for this release. There will still be simple instructions on the forum to show how to install to a HardDrive. I hope you will enjoy using Myah OS. Here is a list of useful applications in this release.

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |
