CA confirms plans for open source patent pledge
"Systems management vendor Computer Associates International has confirmed that it intends to pledge a number of its patents to the open source community to remove any perceived threat against the Linux operating system."
"Although details are thin on the ground, den Hartog said CA's motive is to remove any suggestion that the company might hold a threat of litigation over Linux or other open source projects."
