Stable kernel 2.6.22.5 is Out
The 2.6.22.5 stable kernel update is out. It contains about 20 patches for serious problems; none of them appear to be security-related.
Some changes include:
x86_64: Check for .cfi_rel_offset in CFI probe
ACPICA: Clear reserved fields for incoming ACPI 1.0 FADTs
i386: Fix double fault handler
hwmon: fix w83781d temp sensor type setting
Hibernation: do not try to mark invalid PFNs as nosave
forcedeth: fix random hang in forcedeth driver when using netconsole

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |
