KDE takes stand on OOXML; GNOME dithers
Three cheers for the developers and management of the K Desktop Environment. They have taken a principled stand on the divisive issue of OOXML, the Microsoft Office Open XML document format. And for this the KDE folk deserve a round of applause.
Microsoft has been trying to push OOXML as an ISO standard in opposition to the Open Document Format (ODF) which has been championed by OpenOffice.org and its variants. Microsoft has thus far failed in its attempts.
But when certain sections of the FOSS community are willing to lend support to Microsoft's efforts to create a standard which will ultimately give it control, why should the people at Redmond give up?

Your Turn, Jeff
If GNOME does not stand up soon and joins KDE's stance, the project will be in serious trouble. It is already too cozy with Microsoft and Novell plays a role in this relationship as well.
