Intel VIIV mystery apparently solved
We now know how to pronounce it--like it rhymes with "five." Intel officially launched its new Viiv brand today at the Intel Developer Forum. As we noted earlier, it's targeted at the living room PC, and is geared towards making the PC work like any other piece of consumer electronics.
Remember VIIV? When the Intel trademarked what looked like a string of Roman numerals in late 2004, speculation abounded as to what the four letters referred to.
VIIV will be the centerpiece of a new branding campaign, with Viiv stickers being used to denote that a PC bearing the mark of the Viiv are capable of recording TV shows and playing music.
