OpenOffice.org 2.4 Released, New Site Look
The OpenOffice.org Community is pleased to announce the release of OpenOffice.org 2.4, the latest version of the leading open source office productivity suite. OpenOffice.org 2.4 includes many new features, enhancements, and bug fixes to all its core components.
New Features in OpenOffice.org 2.4
Connect to WebDAV servers via HTTPS
Custom icons for toolbars are imported
Control password-storing with a master password
Warning if document is from a newer ODF
Writer
Selecting rectangular region of text
Find and Replace: backward references in regular expressions
Spell checking: easier selecting of the language
Insert&Insert Object toolbar redesign - Writer

Led by Maarten Brouwers, the Website team has designed and implemented a clean new style that we believe will make it easier to find OpenOffice.org, download it, and learn about it and the project that has grown with it. Thanks to Maarten, to Ivan Miskovic, the lead designer, Christian Lohmaier, chief infrastrucure wizard, and to Graham Lauder, who came up with the basic action statements idea, Kay Schenk, Alexandro Colorado, André Wyrwa, and the many others not mentioned here but no less important to the effort who contributed their ideas, night hours and persistence to doing this--and doing it right.
