FSF Forms Project To Revise GPL
The Free Software Foundation (FSF) announced the formation of a development project to iron out the next major revision of the General Public License (GPL). The project will aid the FSF by providing a platform for receiving comments from open-source software developers.
This marks the first update of the GPL Latest News about GPL since 1991. Created by Richard Stallman, one of the fathers of the open-source movement, to provide a legal foundation for the rights of open-source developers to copy, modify, share and redistribute their software, the GPL covers countless open-source projects, including the Linux Latest News about Linux kernel as well as the popular Samba and MySQL applications.
