Fluendo integrates codec manager with Mandriva Spring 2008
Fluendo, a Spanish provider of codec products, in partnership with open source technology provider Mandriva, has introduced Codeina, a codec manager, which has been integrated with the new Mandriva Linux Spring 2008 release.
According to Fluendo, most of the Linux releases do not offer proprietary software such as audio and video codecs, which are necessary to open and read multimedia files. Fluendo offers legally safe codec products which help address this problem.
Fluendo says that the codec manager, which will be available in all Mandriva Spring 2008 editions, has been designed in a way that it offers added technical support to Mandriva Linux distribution users. The integrated application is automatically launched by the system if it detects a missing codec on the user’s desktop.
