Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 3 Screenshot Tour
The third alpha version of the upcoming Ubuntu 8.10 (codename Intrepid Ibex), which is scheduled for release in late October this year, was made available a few minutes ago.
Even if it doesn’t come with any significant modification, compared with the second alpha, which brought just a handful of software updates, we wanted
to keep you up-to-date with the latest changes in the Ubuntu 8.10 development. Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 3 comes with a brand new development version of the Nautilus file manager (with tabs) and a new Linux kernel, version 2.6.26-4 (based on 2.6.26). It also includes the following applications:
• Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1
• OpenOffice.org 2.4.1
• The GIMP 2.4.6

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world.
