Linux is a piece of cake
There is no limit to how you make your cake. You can experiment or follow a tried and true family recipe. You can make it as large as you wish or as small as you wish. It is all up to you.
Now if you were to replace all the culinary words like cake, carrot, walnut and such with Linux words such as Linux, KDE and Gnome. You will see that talking about Linux and talking about cake is pretty much the same thing. This is because they are both made in pretty much the same way.
Like cake, Linux is a mixture of ingredients you can mix and match.
