Linux, the silent revolution
In my travels around the internet and in talking with friends, co-workers and acquaintances I have noticed one thing. The word Linux is popping up more and more. I am hearing more about Linux right now than I heard last year. This signifies one thing to me. There is a revolution in the works.
Sure everybody talks, writes or blogs about this every year. I have even done so myself. However the focus on all of these revolutionary revelations is that Linux will take over the desktop and send the evil conglomerates rolling down the hill of destruction.
That is not going to happen soon. However as I stated in my article The Linux revolution has started! and it will keep on growing. After an initial flurry of media events everything seemed to calm down and the Linux revolution seemed to have been forgotten.
I don't think it has been forgotten at all.
