AMD makes it into top 10 chip firms
MARKET RESEARCH firm Isuppli said that Intel continues to lead the pack in the semiconductor market, and will churn out revenues of $35.8 billion this year.
Aside from Intel, the next nine positions are occupied by Samsung, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, ST Micro, Infineon, Renessas, Philips and AMD. AMD makes it into the top 10 after being in the 11th position in 2004.
And for the first time ATI has made it into the top 25, just below Nvidia which is in position 24.
In other AMD news:
AMD is expected to make an annoucement on bringing down the prices of personal computers in India. If AMD is here, then Intel will not be far behind.
