Synergy Mini Howto
Synergy lets you easily share a single mouse and keyboard between multiple computers with different operating systems, each with its own display, without special hardware. It's intended for users with multiple computers on their desk since each system uses its own monitor(s).
I have two Solaris machines on my desk; a SunBlade 2000 (SPARC) and my Ferrari laptop (AMD64). The laptop is hooked up to a large external monitor which sits beside the monitor for the SunBlade. At the moment I have two keyboards and two mouses mice on my desk. I have tried a LinkXcel KVM in the past, but after a while it just stopped working. I never did find out why.
Synergy would appear to be the perfect solution to allow me to just use a single keyboard and mouse between these two machines.
