ZEN-Mini Gnome 2010.10 Reviewed
The slick metallic-themed Desktop seems simple enough and Gnome loads faster than Ubuntu’s by far. The ZEN-mini is actually a spin-off of PCLinuxOS that has a separate website, “ZEN-mini (often shortened to ZEN) is a minimal livecd that is bootable and can be installed. It comes with a very basic GNOME desktop without additional applications. It is designed for advanced users or for users who wish to learn how to customize their system with the applications and support files they want to use. Additional software can be installed through the Synaptic Software Manager (requires network connection). Add your own background, window decorations, web browser client, email client, music client and fully trick out your desktop the way you want it. ZEN is based on PCLinuxOS!”
After adding SN2dark theme, black-white-2-neon icons, and a nice wallpaper I had a nice cool Gnome Desktop! The ZEN-mini uses the Draklive-installer, same as PCLinuxOS, and the installer was a breeze to use and I had zero problems.
