Skolelinux interview: Morten Amundsen
This time the Tromsø office of the Free software Centre and the newly elected board member of the association FRESH I've been speaking in my interview series with Skolelinux -people.
How did you connect with the Skolelinux project?
Skolelinux I have met on several occasions over the years, both through skolelinux enthusiastic users and skeptical "pundits"
I remember a provider of a wide OS for a few years ago meant that Skolelinux was only for hackers and nerds and that no serious schools could take this in use. Fortunately, more knowledge now and proper "IT people" are always looking to expand their knowledge.
What are the benefits of Skolelinux as you see it?
Yes there are many benefits. Independence, stability, transparency, standards, etc. I think it's important not to limit the possibilities of the platform, students will be working.
