Half-Life
I've been playing Half-Life recently, something to which I've looked forward for quite some time. I did get it playing under Wine years ago, but I thought I only got a little ways. I'm stuck In the Rails right now (the rocket level), but I remember this level.
I think this is as far as I got under wine. It got to where it couldn't save games and then couldn't load them, so I gave up. But I'm pretty hurt and almost out of ammo. I'm out of all the big stuff except for one of those mines you set and detontate when someone breaks the beam. I'm trying to sneak under the dang marines and set that at the bottom of the steps to try and take a couple out when they come after me. Then I can take out the other one with my m16 or whatever that machine gun is.
I keep seeing these "Such and Such on Steam for Linux," but you wouldn't know it from Steam. I think I finally saw somewhere if you buy the Windows version, the Linux beta will show up in your list as playable. Is this correct, does anyone know how that works?
Hey, it's taken at least 10 years, but I'm finally playing half-life as it was intended - even if Steam sometimes loses my latest save or two.

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources.
