FSG promotes standards to prevent Linux fragmentation
In a bid to order to prevent the fragmentation of Linux, the Free Standards Group (FSG) is developing and promoting open source software standards including the Linux Standard Base (LSB) and Openi18N, the international standard for Linux.
FSG is also strengthening its activities in Asia by standardising the handling of Asian characters and establishing the Chinese Linux certification laboratory with the Chinese government.
FSG is an independent not-for-profit organisation whose key projects include the Linux Standard Base, OpenI18N, OpenPrinting and the FSG Accessibility Workgroup. Supported by leaders in the IT industry as well as the open source development community, FSG believes it fulfils a critical need to establish and promote open standards uniquely designed for open source.
