Bell Micro in Deal With Red Hat
Bell Microproducts Inc. on Tuesday said it reached an agreement with Red Hat Inc. that allows Bell to develop products based on Red Hat's enterprise version of the open-source computer operating code Linux.
The partnership makes Bell Micro a certified Red Hat distributor and aims to enable the company to develop network and computing products that are compatible with or operate on the Linux system.
"The deal allows Bell Microproducts to enhance its product portfolio with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and provide a wider range of turnkey solution suites and stand-alone products," the company said in a statement.
