Donate to advertise OpenOffice.org
Following the successful community-based marketing efforts of www.spreadfirefox.com to raise awareness of the FireFox browser, another group is planning a similar campaign to market the OpenOffice.org office suite. The campaign's first project is to place a full back page ad in New York's free daily Metro. The Metro has a daily readership of around 450&000.
Project founder Ben Horst says the group is collecting funds to book the advertising space and they have been offered a discount rate because the group qualifies as a non-profit organisation. The group requires $US5 000 to place the advert.
