Myah OS 2.3rc1 Release
Myah OS 2.3rc1 is now availble for download. I know it's only been a
week or 2 since 2.2 came out but I have been working day and night
making impovements. I was tired of waiting for slackware to fix their
problem with KDE 3.5.4 needing hal and dbus. So I worked it out them
myself adding hal, dbus and a kdebase package that has there support.
So now Myah OS has the latest KDE 3.5.4 with all the propper support.
I have also changed the Myah Installer to give the option to install
lilo bootloaded into partition not just the MBR. There has been no
filesystem check after a full install to the hardrive. So updated all
the bootscripts and modified it so that it will perform the check if
it's installed and ignore it if it's running live. I have also
switched from the old unionfs + squashfs to the newer aufs + squashfs
+ lmza for a higher compression. I have updated the kernel to 2.6.18.
With the extra space I had on the CD now I have also added 23 extra
games just for fun. Here is a list of some of the intresting programs
in Myah OS.

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |
