Linux prominent at ESC Boston
Market research firm Venture Development Corp. (VDC) has published its annual re-cap of the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC), held in Boston the week of Sept. 18. VDC's report highlights several announcements of potential interest to developers and companies in the embedded Linux market.
VDC's "best of show" award went to Telelogic/I-Logix, for the 7.0 release of Rhapsody, a model-driven development tool. Rhapsody has long supported Linux, and has been integrated with tools from commercial Linux providers.

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources.
