Gentoo on the NT kernel
Submitted by srlinuxx on Friday 1st of April 2005 04:58:23 PM Filed under

If we allow ourselves to think out of the box, we will realize that the Microsoft NT kernel is an alternative to Linux, that is both proven and commercial-grade. It has support from nearly all hardware vendors in the world, and practically every PC comes with an license for the NT kernel. This means: the monetary cost of a copy of the NT kernel is close to non-existent for the average end-user.

Gentoo 2005.0 Now Shipping!
Submitted by srlinuxx on Friday 18th of March 2005 09:34:17 PM Filed under
Gentoo Linux 2005.0 for x86 is now complete, and we will begin fulfilling x86 pre-orders today! AMD64 and PowerPC should start shipping very shortly as well.
Please note that 2005.0 is not yet available for download on Gentoo mirrors -- the Store is getting 2005.0 a week in advance of it appearing on various Gentoo mirrors worldwide. This is a good thing, as it will give us several days to catch up on Store pre-orders.

Gentoo Linux Is Coming into Its Own
Submitted by srlinuxx on Monday 28th of February 2005 05:39:47 PM Filed under

eWeek has a write up gentoo linux this morning. They say some nice things, but then "hesitate to recommend Gentoo for broad production use" because it "is for the most part a 'from source' distribution" and "the amount of time compilation requires".

This 7nm graphics card offers 22 compute units, 1408 stream processors, up to 5.6 TFLOPS of compute power, 4GB or 8GB GDDR6 video memory options, and built atop their modern RDNA architecture and supporting features in common with the RX 5700 series like PCIe 4.0 support.
