The PCLinuxOS developers have announced the release of the first beta for the 2010 edition of their Linux distribution. The distribution's goal is to be "radically simple" and easy to use. The latest development release includes a number of changes and updates.
The first beta release of PCLinuxOS-2010 features the 18.104.22.168 Linux kernel and version 4.4.1 of the KDE Software Compilation (KDE SC). In addition to a reworked menu system with less sub-categories, the developers note that the mylivecd iso creation software has received a major rewrite to better detect devices and that the LiveCD now boots 50% faster than previous releases.
