Preventing DDOS Attacks

In this article I am trying to explain what DDOS is and how it can be prevented. DDOS happens due to lack of security awareness of the network/server owners. On a daily basis we hear that a particular machine is under DDOS attack or NOC has unplugged the machine due to DDOS attack . So DDOS has become one of the common issues in this electronics world. DDOS is like a disease which doesn't have an anti-viral developed. So we should be carefull while dealing with it . Never take it lightly. In this article i am trying to explain the steps/measures which will help us defend from DDOS attack ,up to a certain extend .

Full Story.

DDOS is managed by Mosix and Prex(Posix) ?

Load balancing is tricky at best, but bandwidth restoration is the underlying structure of Mosix. Mosix in combination with data rerouting(AT&T long distance packets, Posix) on massive parallel enterprise system had been used for many years for millions of customers without complaints. When Linux comes of age, it will catch up with AT&T Unix operating system.

Proposed Linux 2.8.x will manage DDOS or any denial of service with Prex(Posix rerouting) and Mosix(load balancing). Extra blades, grids and even hotplugging new USB terabyte hdd are all reserved for Mosix or Posix rerouting purpose.

Loss of data has to be insured by failsafe dual cpus with shared scsi bus and raid 0,1,or 5 choices on the motherboard; then redundency by 'copy on write'(unionfs on demand) to reserved USB terabyte hdd. Hotplugging removable terabyte hdd means infinite capacity redundency.
